- Man jailed for perverting the course of justice Man jailed for perverting the course of justice A private hire driver aged 36 has been sentenced to 15 months imprisonment today. Mohammed Hassan from Aston pleaded guilty last week to three counts of perverting the course of justice and was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court today. Mohammed was arrested in July this year, after having nominated three different drivers when responding to three notices of intended prosecutions for three separate speeding offences. Lisa Newmarsh from the West Midlands Casualty Reduction Scheme said: "People who attempt to avoid paying speeding fines by nominating other drivers will be caught and face serious consequences. "This is a prime example of what can happen when people believe they can evade prosecution. We thoroughly investigate all speeding matters and identify those drivers who attempt to pervert the course of justice." |
